Hotel and Music-hall by William Alsop

The Hotel and (pop)music-hall are part of the 'Urban Entertainment Center' which has been designed by Alsop and Stoemer Architects, London. The project consists of a 120 room hotel, the music-hall, a shopping area, food courts and a family entertainment center with bowling-alley. The buildings are situated around the Schipperplein, developed by DS Landscape-architects, Amsterdam. On this square there is an artificial brooklet for children to play in during summertime, in wintertime the water can be cooled till below freezing-point to create an artificial skating-rink. This creates an recreation-area where families can meet and enjoy themselves. Realisation: March-October 2003
